Learn Every Day!

Definitely It is! Personally I am a defender of the idea that every employee should have her/his own motivation to improve his/her skills every and each day. We simply call it “Adult Learning”. HR depatments should offer necessary tools to employees however “mandatory” learning in business life shall not be topic anymore. On the other hand, we still see the employeers or managers supporting the idea of mandatory learning. We can’t blame them tho.
In the conversations I have with the employees, there are sometimes dialogues like this: “I haven’t seen any training in my dashboard”, “I wish to see this topic in our platform” “Sometimes HR should make trainings compulsory for all of us” etc.

After all, I would like to share my thoughts for keep up continuous learning as a sustainable company culture 💪🏻

1. HR L&D or People development teams shall provide learning opportunities to their employees.

2. Offering multiple tools for different methods of learning. Every employee could have different working and learning styles according to learning skills.

3. Proving a platform while giving employees an oppurtunity to be internal trainer within the company.

4. Mentoring as a development for the lifetime. Mentoring is always easy and the most beneficial tool for employees to learn both company culture and experince of their seniors.

Of course we should benefit from reverse mentoring if it is needed and senior managers are ready to take this opportunity.

Apart from all, one crucial factor has been pointed out in Forbes article that employees’ mindset make a huge impact on continuous learning in the company.

Fixed or growth mindset?

People with a growth a mindset always find a way to learn and develop their skills further opposite of a fixed mindset, they could be offended when they hear feedback or development points.

To conclude, companies should invest in a growth mindset. Human Resources build their performance and development systems over this system. Performance management is not the same way we used to have before pandemic.
